Raw CBD

Decarboxylation is a complex process in chemistry. In simple words, it is a form of reaction that takes place in a substance over time and also by the increase in temperature. Many elements in the cannabis plant are known to undergo decarboxylation. This process will make CBD more effective and efficient.

CBD can be used in two ways. It can be consumed in its raw form and also in cooked form. However, none of the manufacturers are selling the hemp products in the raw form, or without drying or processing, because it will not give the same benefits of dried or processed CBD products. Some facts about using cooked and raw CBD are as follows.

Reason For Not Using CBD In Raw Form

The raw form of CBD or the CBD that is extracted from the fresh leaves and flower of the hemp plant is not potent like the dried or cooked CBD products. This is because in those parts, CBD will be present only in a small quantity and the rest will be CBDa. The CBDa or CBD acid is the predecessor of CBD and it will have to undergo the decarboxylation process to become CBD. Even though it is having all the properties of CBD, it will take a lot of time to get digested. Its bioavailability is also low compared to cooked CBD. In addition to that, the anti inflammation property of CBD is inactive in the CBD acid.

Benefits Of Using Cooked CBD

In this context, cooked means dried and processed. All the CBD products that are available in the market are extracted from the dried flowers and leaves of the hemp plant. This is to improve its effectiveness. When the plant is processed or left to dry, it will help in increasing their CBD content by converting the CBD acids into CBD. It will also help the manufacturers to extract the flavonoids and terpenes from such plants. This will help in offering the entourage effect and hence improve its effectiveness. It will also add on to its bioavailability.

CBD can be consumed in both raw and cooked forms. But most of the vendors are not ready to sell their hemp products in raw form because it is less potent than processed CBD. This is because the decarboxylation process will change the basic structure of this element and will make it more simple. However, for some people, the raw form of CBD is equally effective like the cooked CBD products.
